A template defines the grid of cells your photos go into. Pick a layout and the photos in the cells re-fit the new grid automatically. The “Templates” section has two tabs: “Built-in” (ready-made layouts) and “My templates” (the ones you create). Together with photo frames the catalogue holds more than a hundred options, so there’s a layout for almost any idea.
Standard templates (rectangular)
In the “Built-in” tab the “Template type” filter switches the kind of layout. Rectangular ones are rectangle-shaped cells arranged in a grid: the classic 2×2 collage, a strip of three photos, and dozens of other variants. This kind of layout adapts to any canvas size, so it works equally well for a social post and a print. The “Photo count” slider helps you quickly narrow down templates for the number of shots you have.
Creative templates (freeform)
Freeform layouts are cells shaped as figures: circles, hearts, polygons and other forms. A layout like this usually comes with its own proportions (square, portrait or landscape). You fill them the same way as rectangular ones — drag a photo from the “Photos” section or tap a cell; the only difference is the shape of the “windows”. The “All” filter shows both kinds together.
My templates
The “My templates” tab keeps the layouts you built yourself in the builder — with the “Create your own template” button (see “How to build your own template”). Remove one you don’t need with the trash icon on its card. A few things to keep in mind:
- Templates are saved in the browser’s memory (local storage) — only on this device and only in this browser.
- On another device, in another browser, or in private/incognito mode they won’t appear.
- Up to 50 are kept: when you exceed that, the oldest are removed automatically.
- If you clear your browser data (history, cache, site data), saved templates are lost.
Photo frames
A photo frame is a decorative border over the whole collage (flowers, holiday décor and so on) for different occasions: weddings, birthdays, New Year and more. In the “Frames” section pick a category and a frame, then a layout — square (1×1), 3×4 or 4×3. For more, see “How to use photo frames”, and you can browse the whole collection on the Photo frames page.
Applying a new template replaces the current layout — if the collage already has photos or elements, you’ll be asked to confirm. Your uploaded photos stay in the “Photos” section, so you can try another layout without losing anything.
